Hello. I am a level 52 fisher and am currently trying to complete the quest "The Beast of Brewer's Beacon" in which you have to catch that dreaded Titanic Sawfish. My stats are 326-Gathering and 251-Perception without food. When I get a big catch on my line I get a message that my gathering rating is not high enough. Titanic Sawfish is not a new 2.2 fish. It's perfectly catchable with full HQ gear, no melds, just like every other pre-2.2 fish in the game. The only whiffs you'll get are if it's an HQ version of a 2-star fish that takes the bite. For HQ 2-stars, you'll want full melds for reliable catching, although you always have a chance even with no melds ...
