For about two days, it worked occasionally from the passenger switch but without auto up or auto down functions. Then it quit working completely, in the up position. The motor could be "tired", and that is why it's slower when using just the 12 V from the driver ...

Usually the reset procedure solves the issue. I'd try disconnecting the battery for 2 or 3 minutes to ensure the window module memory is killed, and after reconnecting it again, try the power window switch. When I try to close the passenger side window by lifting the power switch, it goes all the way up then bounces back to halfway shut (or open - take your pick). It won't move up again until I move it down after which i can incrementally move it up until it closes.
