I would love to see Microchip ditch the idea of having their own IDE completely, they obviously don't have the resources to maintain an entire IDE. It would be an incredibly smart move for them to create extensions for other Editors and IDE's like Atom, VS Code, Visual Studio, Vim, Emacs etc. Something similar to Platformio would be a good target.I'm using a dsPIC33CK256MP506 in an application that needs highly accurate frequency control (1ppm) and fine phase and duty cycle control.
