When I bought my 2000 Xplorer 400, I had the dealer adjust it so it gets a little more oil than is called for in the service manual. After 10 minutes or so of riding, my machine smokes more than it should, too.two adjkustments on throttle cable, one on the etc box at thubm throttle , the other on top of carb on the two strokes, as long as there is still adjustment at both ends and you have 1/8 inch of sack at thumb throttle it is ok, choke adjustment,I cant remember if there is one on two strokes, if there is it will be towards the middle of the cable.

Fist thing I noticed is the electric start did not work,I found the power wire broken at the starter, new terminal fixed that.Yes on installing the piston correct. Arrow towards the exhaust. The cylinder was just bored and honed. This piston and rings are at new specs. I have 75 PSI when cranking and it went to 80 PSI after putting a few drops of oil in the cylinder. Howdy fellas. I have a 96 explorer 300 aircooled two stroke. The thermostat that brings on the fan broke. I put an override switch on fan to bring on fan manually, how ever I am having a hard time finding the switch. I am a HVAC tech I can install a adjustable thermostatic switch but not sure what temp to set it at.
